Aislinn's sunflower

Right before school let out in June Aislinn brought home a sunflower seed in a pot that they planted for Pioneer Days. I vowed this year to get it planted and protect it from the rabbits so we would actually get it to grow. With the help of Fred and his supplies our little sprout grew into a magnificent sunflower and then proceeded to droop heavily right after blooming. Fred managed to get a pic of Aislinn in front of it before it really got bent over so we could send it to her teacher and remember how big this thing really got. You can view this monstrosity (sp?) when you pass by our house. It's nestled in between the aborvites (again sp?) that we have along our fence line. I'm very proud of our accomplishment this growing season but can't wait to chop the thing down!!
